Academic Progress Policy for All Students
All students must demonstrate Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) by successfully completing attempted courses. For undergraduate students, completing courses with a grade of C or better indicates academic progress. Undergraduate students receiving D or lower, and/or withdrawing from classes may put students at risk. For graduate students, completing courses with a B or better grade indicates academic progress. Graduate students receiving a C or lower grade and/or withdrawing from classes may put students at risk.
Poor academic performance may lead to Academic/Financial Warning and/or Academic/Financial Aid Dismissal. It is very important that students attend all registered courses and complete them successfully. Should a compelling reason arise that requires a student to cease attendance, it is the student’s responsibility to immediately contact Academic Affairs or the Registrar’s Office.
The following criteria are used to determine whether or not a student is making Satisfactory Academic Progress. A student must be able to:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA);
- Achieve the minimum rate of progress (ROP); and
- Complete the program within a maximum allowable timeframe (MTF).
